If an angle is 30° more than one half of its complementary . . .

Question : If an angle is 30° more than one half of its complementary , find the measure of the angle.

Doubt by Bhavya

Solution :
Let the measure of the required angle be x°
and the measure of its complementary angle be (90-x)°

ATQ
x
°=30°+½(90-x)°
x°-30 = ½(90-x)°
2(x°-30) = (90-x)°
2x
°-60°=90-x°
2x
°-x°=90+60
3x°=150°
x°=150°/3
x
°=50°
Hence, the required angle is 50°
